Shortly after earning her degree in Political Science and Business from the University of Kansas, Emily moved to Chicago to join Agruss Law Firm, LLC. As the firm’s Legal Assistant, she has a wide array of responsibilities ranging from screening potential new clients, to drafting legal documents and assisting the attorneys through all phases of their consumer and personal injury cases.
Emily’s previous professional experience includes working at The U.S. House of Representatives as an intern for Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins. Emily enjoys working in an office with a high-volume caseload and credits her ability to work in a fast-paced environment to her time on Capitol Hill and years as an office manager of a children’s store in her hometown.
While she was attending the University of Kansas, Emily first developed her interest in a career in law. Eager to gain insight into law and government, she joined the College Republicans and secured a spot on Kansas’ competitive mock trial team. She also took an active role in Hall Government and was elected to the Executive Board, where she served as Vice President of Programming in 2010.
Outside of the office, Emily enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, venturing out to different workout studios, and staying up to date with political news. In her spare time, you can find her reading a good John Grisham book, cheering on the Kansas’ Jayhawks, or spending time with friends and family.
